Birth injury compensation amounting to almost £7 million has been agreed by Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust to a boy left with serious brain damage.
The boy whose name was undeclared is now seven years old and was starved of oxygen during his birth at the Ipswich hospital. As a consequence, the boy suffered serious brain injuries and is now left with cerebral palsy and dystonia and suffers from impaired speech and learning difficulties.
The negligence of the hospital was held responsible for the injury before the High Court.
Accepting liability for the accident, Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust has agreed to pay birth injury compensation totalling £6.94 million to the victim.
