Claims Process - Personal Injury
Advisory Period
The first step you solicitor will take, in most cases, is to ensure that you begin taking a daily record of your symptoms and recovery process. This can be used as evidence to show that the injury is legitimate, as well as displaying the suffering it has caused you.
This is the first step in acquiring evidence for the claim, and while you begin this your solicitor will be making contact with the person or company that the claim is being made against, informing them of the claim and your intentions.
We will then gather as much information about the case as possible, compiling a dossier of evidence that can be used to support your personal injury claim. This may include witness statements, CCTV footage and a medical report that will be carried out in the next step.
Once this information is gathered, we will then advise you on how long the claim is likely to take, a period which is entirely based on the situation surrounding the incident. A simple Road Traffic Accident claim will take much less time to complete than a Hit & Run or Sporting Injury claim for example, but our solicitors are perfectly positioned to provide you with all the support you need at every step.
We will carry out a Medical Examination, often during this advisory process, as part of gathering evidence.
